Veszprém, the City of Queens, is one of the oldest urban areas in Hungary, and a city with county rights. It lies approximately 15 km (9 mi) north of the Lake Balaton and 110 km (68 mi) from Budapest. It is the administrative center of the county (comitatus or 'megye') of the same name. Veszprém was among the first Hungarian cities to have a university. Outstanding sights include the Archiepiscopal Palace, the Giselle chapel, the Queen Giselle Museum and St. George chapel. In the galleries and exhibition halls of the House of Arts, for example in the Modern Art Gallery - László Vass Collection the works of contemporary artists are exhibited. The permanent exhibition from Károly László´s collection is opening in the renovated Dubniczay House in autumn of 2006. At the same place the Brick Collection of the Hungarian Construction Industry Museum, as well as the Exhibition of minerals await visitors in this wonderfully restored environment. Kittenberger Kálmán Botanical Garden and Zoo Park of well-deserved European fame can be also visited in Veszprém!
ICBSIP series will be held annually to include innovative academics and industrial experts. We are looking forward to meeting you in Veszprém!
